In order to engage in critical feminist analysis we must be aware of the current events that shape our daily lives, and as the famous feminist slogan states, “The personal is political.” Since FEM is based in UCLA, many of the topics covered in this section will focus on events pertinent to the UCLA campus and the state of California as a whole. Political issues as well as updates of upcoming and past events on the UCLA campus associated with gender issues will be discussed. Because women’s issues are not bound by ethnic or cultural borders, national and international topics of interest will also be highlighted. This website does not intend to be a comprehensive source for feminist-related, late-breaking news.
